Salgado is indeed special. There is a great documentary about Salgado by Wim Wenders called Salt of the Earth and there is another one that I also reviewed here at Vintage (and is freely available on youtube) Spectre of Hope.
Enjoyable essay. Love Salgado. Thought your point - and his - re naming people really important: it hardly ever happens.
