Date of Release: June 16, 2023

Sigur Rós, the Icelandic post-rock band known for their ethereal and atmospheric soundscapes, has made a triumphant return with their eighth studio album, "ÁTTA." The album marks the band’s first release in a decade, and it showcases the band's ability to create a sonic world that is both expressive and welcoming. The album's title, "ÁTTA," translates to eight in Icelandic, symbolizing the band's eighth studio album and their enduring journey in the music industry.

The album begins with the instantly recognizable voice of Jónsi, the band's lead vocalist, accompanied by something new – the sound of strings. The London Contemporary Orchestra, along with conductor Robert Ames, joins the trio of Jónsi, keyboardist Kjartan Sveinsson, and bassist Georg Hólm in breathing life into the songs of "ÁTTA." The musicians' collaboration was recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios, adding to the anticipation surrounding this album.
